Travel Buddy has launched its new 'Mobile Destination Guides' that provide personalised, location based services for holidaymakers and business travellers. The new mobile web site services haves been created using Wapple Architect™, allowing applications ranging from local weather, travel and the latest 'what's on' information services, to news and favourite sports results from back home, to allbe optimised and delivered to for any mobile device from the latest smartphone to first generation handsets.
"Travel Buddy already provides a wide range of interactive travel services using SMS text messaging, but the mobile internet allows us to deliveroffer 'Mobile Destination Guides' with much more feature rich, multimedia information specific to an individual person and their destination. It also provides airlines with a new platform to up-sell services in destination," said Jason Rivolta, Commercial Director of Travel Buddy. "The problem we faced was supporting over 50,000 mobile device and software variations; but with Wapple Architect we only had to create the application and content once so now it will automatically work and be displayed correctly on any phone or other mobile device."
