Shortlist Media to Implement Powerful Mobile Web Strategy with Wapple
Shortlist Media recognise the power of mobile and have begun work opening up their mobile channel for their two popular weekly award winning publications; Shortlist and Stylist.
Both publications, which are already extensively distributed around London and the UK for free,
identify the importance of publishing a mobile website as part of their multi-channel strategy and went out to tender in March 2012. Mobile agency Wapple were successful in winning the pitch.
Shortlist Media is consulting with Wapple to create a best experience for mobile consumers whilst maintaining the unique style and culture of both magazines and ensuring that the mobile web sites complement both the desktop and print versions.
Shortlist media have made great strides in cross platform innovation this year with significant growth in its web traffic and a move into the tablet market fuelling its next step into mobile optimization. Due to the nature of its consumer model and the growth in Smartphone ownership in major distribution cities, web content is already heavily accessed via mobile devices.
Using Wapple's award winning platform, Architect, Shortlist media will be taking a clean slate approach, providing a bespoke customized experience tailored to its professional urban consumers.
The experience has been carefully considered for the needs of the brand, its advertisers and mobile consumers' engagement and usability, enabling current and new readers to engage with the publications via this digital channel whilst they are on the move via any mobile device.
Further details about the mobile sites will be revealed at launch, anticipated in early summer, but both will utilise the unique functions of mobile including geo location as well as offering mobile advertising opportunities for existing and new advertisers in both titles.
Mark Sandford, Head of Digital Sales "We view mobile web as a natural evolution for Shortlist Media to complement our existing print and desktop publications, offering opportunities for personalised and localised interaction with our consumers and felt Wapple with their extensive experience in this field were best able to assist us in realising our vision."
Rich Holdsworth, CEO from Wapple "Working with Shortlist Media is an exciting opportunity for us at Wapple as we move deeper into the media and entertainment channels. Utilising mobile web to open up Shortlists mobile channel for their readers enables anyone with any mobile device to search and find the Shortlist and Stylist mobile sites. Wapple's patented technology automatically detects and delivers an optimised mobile experience publishing rich dynamic content directly from the magazines' editorial CMS."
